The project "Scenarios for a co-ordinated approach to sustainable S/T cooperation with the Eastern Neighbours of the EU (SCOPE-EAST)" intends to take sustainable steps in view of an enhanced coordination of the R&D co-operation of interested EU-Member States and Associated Candidate States with Russia and Eastern Europe. SCOPE-EAST will address the question of how to achieve optimum coherence between national cooperation strategies and the EU R&D cooperation strategy and of how cooperation in R&D can contribute to other policies of the EU such as the European Neighbourhood policy. Target countries of SCOPE-EAST are in the first step Russia and Ukraine.
The partnership between the countries of the European Union and Eastern Europe/Central Asia (EECA) is of utmost importance for the political, economic and social development of both regions. The project will address policy stakeholders from the EU/AC and EECA countries. The aim is to establish and sustain three dedicated S&T Policy Dialogue Platforms: one biregional EU/AC with all Eastern European and Central Asian countries, and two bilateral platforms for the respective dialogues of EU/AC with Russia and with Ukraine. The existing policy framework for cooperation will hereby be highlighted and improved. Special focus is the field of S&T to develop new opportunities and links between the scientific and research communities of the countries involved.
INTAS was an international association which promoted co-operation with scientists in the NIS. It was set up in June 1993 as an independent organisation. As a non-profit, charitable association, based in Brussels and tax exempted, it was funded primarily through the Fifth Framework Programme, and carried out a large part of EU research activities with the NIS. INTAS was not continued in FP7. Its former website domain is now in commercial use not related to the original organisation.
The Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the prevention of the proliferation of expertise related to weapons of mass destruction (WMD). The STCU vision: for a safer and better world, to assist former WMD experts in the transition to self-supporting, peaceful activities in the international science and business communities. Since 1993, private companies and government agencies from the European Union, United States, and Canada have used the STCU to manage over 1,100 R&D projects, worth over 166 million dollars.

S&T Gate UKR.EU
In March 2010 the S&T Gate UKR.EU has been launched within the BILAT-UKR project which aims to identify and analyse the S&T Potential of EU-Ukraine Cooperation. S&T Gate UKR.EU is an information platform designed to intensify international cooperation in science and technology, facilitate the networking of research organizations and institutions in the Ukraine and the European Union, and promote the scientific dialogue between Ukraine and EU Member States. S&T Gate UKR.EU provides detailed and up-to-date information about the political development of research and technology in the Ukraine and information about collaborative projects, programmes and potential partner organizations.
incrEAST is an information platform designed to intensify international cooperation in science and technology. The aim is to facilitate the networking of research organizations and institutions in the countries of Eastern Europe / Central Asia (EECA) and the European Union and to promote scientific dialogue between EECA countries and EU Member States and the European Research Area. The incrEAST website provides information about activities in EECA countries and in the European Union. The platform offers regular, detailed and up-to-date information about the most important developments in the area of science and technology.
